New bullet Meteor 350 with record sales.

Iconic two-wheeler maker Royal Enfield has recently launched the Meteor 350 in the Indian market.  It is the best response to the vehicle that hit the market on November 6, 2020.  According to Car & Bike, Royal Enfield sold 10,596 units of the bike in March 2021 alone, with the best bookings in India and a presence in foreign countries.  Royal Enfield had previously reported that the vehicle, which was launched in November 2020, had sold 7000 units in 25 days.

However, the best-selling vehicle in the company's lineup is the Classic 350.  In March alone, 31,694 units of the Classic hit the streets.  At the same time, the Meteor 350 is said to be second only to other models.  The Meteor 350 is available in three variants: Fireball, Stellar and Supernova.  The ex-showroom price is Rs 1.78 lakh for the Fireball, Rs 1.84 lakh for the Stroller and Rs 1.93 lakh for the Supernova.

The Meteor 350 replaces the former Royal Enfield glamor star Thunderbird. The Royal Enfield will position the Meteor 350 between the Classic 350 and the Himalayan.  The vehicle will be built on Royal Enfield's J10 platform.  The Meteor is the first bike to arrive on this platform.  The company has been working on this platform for years.  The vehicle was jointly developed by Royal Enfield's UK Tech Center team and India's Research and Development Division.

At the heart of the Meteor is a 349cc single cylinder four stroke SOHC engine with a primary balancer shaft.  This engine produces 20.2 bhp of power and 27 Nm of torque.  The transmission is a five speed manual.

The Meteor's design highlights include a round headlight with a chrome bezel cover, a refreshed petrol tank, a stylish handle bar, step seat and black engine case. The tubeless tires are 19 inches at the front and 17 inches at the rear.  The meter weighs 191 kg, which guarantees a higher wheelbase than the Thunderbird.  300mm disc front with twin piston floating calipers with dual channel ABS and 270mm disc rear braking. The base variant will be available in two colors, Fireball Yellow and Red, and the Steller Metallic Gloss Blue in three colors, Metallic Gloss Red and Metallic Black, and the superior variety Supernova Bounce-Blue Dual Tone.  The suspension is a 41mm telescopic fork at the front and a twin tube shock absorber at the rear.
