Amazing story of Kumbh Mela to be held every twelve years

Kumbh Mela is directly related to Amrit Kalash.  Its tradition is very ancient.  The event represents the glorious tradition of Indian culture.  Behind this is the story of churning of the sea by the effort made by the gods and demons together to gain 'nectar' to become immortal.

After receiving the total 13 gems including poison, varuni etc. from the Ksheer Sagar after the ocean churning, Devashree Dhanvantari appeared with a urn filled with nectar.  In order to achieve this urn, Kumbh, there was a snarl between them.  However, Indra's son Jayant escaped with the Kumbh on receiving the gesture of the Gods.  On the orders of the demon Acharya Shukracharya, the demons ran after Indraputra Jayant to snatch the Kumbh.  Seeing this, other gods also ran to protect the urn of nectar.

In this chaos, the lunar deity saved the urn from spilling and rolling, the Sun God saved it from breaking and Guru Jupiter saved this Kumbha from going into the hands of the demons.

Meanwhile, Jayant placed the Amrit Kalash at twelve different places, of which eight exist in heaven and four in Bharatvarsha.

It is believed that the Kumbh Mela is organized according to the astrological planetary zodiac of Jupiter, Sun and Moon, the protectors of this urn, that is, at the time when the constellations of Guru, Chandra and Surya are situated on a specific zodiac, then only those who spill the nectar from Kumbh.  The Kumbh Mela is held every 12 years at four places Haridwar, Prayagraj, Nashik and Ujjain.

Also, it is also a fact that before the four Kumbhas, a small Kumbh is organized in Krishna Dham Vrindavan.  Before the main Kumbh, the saints come here and pay obeisance to the birthplace of Lord Shri Krishna and depart from here to Haridwar Kumbh.
